YOUVE GOT TO BE KIDNEYING ME @£%@£

So has anyone ever heard of the kidney theft urban legend?

During 1997 a small contagious rumor broke out in New Orleans. As the city geared up for its annual Mardi Gras festivities in January, a rumor began spreading through word-of-mouth, fax, and forwarded email to the effect that a crime ring in New Orleans was carrying out plans what plans you might say? to drug the visiting tourists, clever right? thats not the worse part they were planning to surgically remove healthy kidneys from their bodies, and sell the organs on the black market. creepy right!?

soon enough this email went viral, which most often arrived under the header "Travelers Beware," this had a huge effect on the public and soon enough police were swamped with phone calls,  this prompted the New Orleans Police Department to publish an official statement to calm and contain public fears. unfortunately investigators found no substantiating evidence.

Example of the letter/email:

Dear Friends:
I wish to warn you about a new crime ring that is targeting business travelers. This ring is well organized, well funded, has very skilled personnel, and is currently in most major cities and recently very active in New Orleans. The crime begins when a business traveler goes to a lounge for a drink at the end of the work day. A person in the bar walks up as they sit alone and offers to buy them a drink. The last thing the traveler remembers until they wake up in a hotel room bath tub, their body submerged to their neck in ice, is sipping that drink. There is a note taped to the wall instructing them not to move and to call 911. A phone is on a small table next to the bathtub for them to call. The business traveler calls 911 who have become quite familiar with this crime. The business traveler is instructed by the 911 operator to very slowly and carefully reach behind them and feel if there is a tube protruding from their lower back. The business traveler finds the tube and answers, "Yes." The 911 operator tells them to remain still, having already sent paramedics to help. The operator knows that both of the business traveler's kidneys have been harvested. This is not a scam or out of a science fiction novel, it is real. It is documented and confirmable. If you travel or someone close to you travels, please be careful.

Yes, this does happen. My sister-in-law works with a lady that this happened to her son's neighbour who lives in Houston. The only "good" thing to his whole story is the fact that the people doing this horrible crime are very in tune to what complications can happen afterwards because of the details precautions they take the time to set up before leaving the room. The word from my sister-in-law is that the hospital in Las Vegas (yes, Vegas) prior to transferring him back to Houston stated that these people know exactly what they are doing. The incision, etc. was exact and clean. They use sterile equipment etc. and the hospital stated that other than the fact that the victim looses a kidney there has not been any reports of other complications due to non-sterile, etc. tactics that were used.

Please be careful.

From: Kathy White@OS Dev@Sys Hou, on 12/13/96 3:25 PM:

Sadly, this is very true. My husband is a Houston Firefighter/EMT and they have received alerts regarding this crime ring. It is to be taken very seriously. The daughter of a friend of a fellow firefighter had this happen to her. Skilled doctor's are performing these crimes! (which, by the way have been highly noted in the Las Vegas area). Additionally, the military has received alerts regarding this.

Researching through related articles and blogs out this legend had happened before it arrived and was noticed by authorities in New Orlean.  this happened before in Housten, Las Vegas and supposedly the person who had experienced this terrifying urban legend was a tourist who they believed was drugged in his hotel room by an unknown prostitute and woke up with a pain in his side and sitting in a bath of ice cubes with a kidney missing. however they could tell the person who took out the kidney had a professional background working with bodies such as a doctor/surgeon.

looking deeper into this urban legend many believe that this is a tale written by locals who do not want to the hassle of tourists sweeping through there towns causing trouble.

"The majority of people who had this pass through their hands failed to realise this was but an urban legend, an apocryphal tale told and re-told. Moreover, it was an urban legend that had been around at least since 1991.

As part of the effort to dispel belief in this nonsense, the National Kidney Foundation has asked any individual who claims to have had his or her kidneys illegally removed to step forward and contact them. So far no one's showed up.

Folklorist Jan Harold Brunvand mentions in The Baby Train that he first heard this horrific story in early 1991. Very shortly thereafter he was swamped by it coming in from every direction, told as happening in various large cities. In this earlier incarnation, friends discover the victim either in his blood-soaked hotel bed, on the floor, or propped up against the side of a building. It's only at the hospital that the grim "truth" of the missing organ becomes known. According to (http://www.snopes.com,2016)"

It's deffinatley hard to call something an "urban legend" when it could be so true, but the vast numbers of occurrences of organ theft and because there is not enough evidence these crimes make them the stuff of folklore.
as we know,
Organs are worth a lot of money on the open market. A single working kidney can be worth as much as $10,000 thats £8061.59 to a black-market organist.
Kidney thieves generally strike people who are likely to casually "hook up" with a member of the opposite sex for a one-night fling during this time people used to cal prostitutes to give them the relief they needed while they were away giving thieves the perfect opportunity to drug them. This includes college students, business travellers, singles in bars, and men. If you fit into one of these categories, If you just met an incredibly attractive person and they are in a hurry to get you to a local hotel, check their background before you count your blessings.
here are some of the rules/tips the authorities at the time told travellers some of them are perfectly sensible.
  • "Refuse requests for tissue typing, particularly by people you don't know well. Even if it "will only take a minute" and "won't hurt a bit," it's not worth the risk.
  • If you notice that your "date" is carrying a scalpel, disinfectant, bandages, and other surgical equipment in her purse, or the "nice man you met at the bar" has a cooler with a biohazard sticker on it in the back seat of his car, proceed with caution.
  • Be suspicious if your date asks you to go to the ice machine more than six or seven times before "getting it on."
  • When dating, don't drink anything.
  • Have "body contains no working kidneys" tattooed on your lower back.
  • Don't visit hotbeds of organ theft, such as Las Vegas, New Orleans, or Houston. Oregon, ironically, is relatively safe.
  • Wear a surgical steel girdle with a strong lock and leave the key at home.
  • Since organ harvesters almost never target gay people, consider dating within your gender.
  • If you are married, bring your spouse with you on business trips instead of relying on prostitution or cheap casual sex. You will lower your chances of a dangerous encounter significantly, since less than 10% of organ thefts are perpetrated by spouses" According to ( http://www.livescience.com, 2008)
now its up to you what you believe however in this day and age anything is possible due to this story being repeated by mouth and email or internet things can be empathised and not all true! however its creepy enough to put on the blog!

Haunted Footsteps, extreme ghost hunts and local legends THIS POST IS ABOUT TUDOR HOUSE!

Hello everyone i'm back to give you your two hair-raisingly haunting updates a week my apologies for the delay in updates. i'm in my last year of college and off to UNI next year so I am being rushed off my feet for applications and interviews! Now for the first post I will be doing well...I decided to do a local haunted place which is Tudor house.

Just some background info...right here...

This building may look like any other old house in Southampton however did you know that this old house has over 800 years of history? Tudor house is centred in the heart of the Old Town. as you can see the building is made from timber-frames and is facing St Michael's Square. This part of the old town was built in the late 15th century, with King John's Palace, an adjacent Norman house accessible from Tudor House Garden the history of the place dates even further back 300 years.

Tudor house has many fascinating and beautiful places to visit with in for example why not take a look at the gardens out the back full of flowers and a lovely view of the garden you can capture treasured memories that were spent there by the previous historical owners of Tudor house. You can even hire out Tudor House for weddings what an incredible place to have a wedding and also can you imagine the history and memories from others who have enjoyed there experiences in the foundation of Tudor House which still resides in the walls after hundreds of years of events.
Quick facts....
  • Tudor houses were built during the Tudor era in England between 1485 - 1603 and they had a very distinctive black-and-white style appearance.
  • The majority of homes in Tudor times were half timbered. This means that they had a wooden frame and the spaces between were filled with small stick and wet clay. This was called wattle and daub.
  • did you know? that in tudor times when people moved houses they took the glass from the windows with them. This is because glass was expensive during the late 15th century, and since only a few people could afford to buy it, they would take it with them when they moved.
  • you would have thought during the Tudor Era they would have comfortable chairs and furniture however they is not entirely true instead of chairs, people would sit on wooden benches or stools. how comfortable? not...

Now lets talk about the hauntings....
"One of Southampton’s most haunted locations, the Tudor House has many reported hauntings. A lot of reports have come from staff and members of the public, who have seen, heard, and felt a presence in the Green Room. Dogs refuse to enter this room as apparitions are regularly witnessed.Dark ominous figures have been seen all around the house and a presence is felt throughout. The Georgian room on the upper floors has had people reporting to be touched and orbs have been seen on visitors cameras.Unexplained footsteps and bangs which cannot be located have been heard regularly." - Haunted Rooms (2016)
Being a local in Southampton i've already visited the house. When I first visited the house I was the great age of 11 bearing in mind by that time I had already had my first ghostly experience and it was not a very nice one (will write about this in another post, in greater detail). you know with many historical building when they do tours they all have the rooms with tricks, lights and projectors which at that age was great fun. However i did have an experience in what they called the green room because of my age I didn't even own a camera let alone a phone so there is not proof or evidence of my experience at tudor house. The experience follows like this it was me, my brother and grandparents we decided to visit the house about midday as thats was when it was less busy as the rooms were small and getting a wheelchair in and out of small rooms and along narrow halls/corridors wasn't very easy. Anyway As we wondered around the rooms listening to the voice and watching the projectors work there magic we came across the green room. This room was well known for its hauntings however we didn't know that until we got home. we went into the room and it was extremely quiet almost too quiet. Thats when we heard the unexplained footsteps. Me, my grandparents and brother were all stood still at the time. I knew I wasn't the only one who heard them either as we all stared at each other in wonder when they started. They lasted for about a minute before they completely stopped. After they had stopped we asked one of the actors who were dressed up wether anyone other then us on the first floor. guess what..they said "no" to our surprise they had stopped the tours for lunch and we were the last ones upstairs before they started the new tours up at 1:00. my grandparents were freaked out by this and we decided to leave. when I got home I searched up Tudor house online to find a paranormal group who had done an investigation in 2004 and heres what they said...

The first room we decided to investigate was the green room, on the first floor of the house where apparitions had been seen and Dogs had refused to enter."- Andrew House 2004
I couldn't believe it.

When your next in Southampton and haven't already why not check out Tudor House. They do incredible ghost hunts and tours also here are some of peoples experiences.

As my first event, I liked the way we eased into it, history of location, what we might expect and how to use and understand equipment. Pressure was felt as pushing at lower back and also extreme cold and slight headache. The team were very professional and were helpful and answered all questions, good knowledge too. -Chris & Tracey Kennedy (2016)

Doctor Who

Now, I don't know about you guys but everyone loves a bit of Doctor Who whether it is David Tennant, Matt Smith or Tom baker. Or all of the doctors above the doctor and his companions never seem to not amaze me. I know I know what your going to say your nuts your just a very big fan girl/guy of the show well yes I am but to be honest there is too much we don't even know about out there who says there couldn't be a real Doctor out there..their is defiantly enough space in the universe to be so! But that is up to you to decide :D so in this post I will be explaining the theories of why the doctor may be real and out there roaming the universe!

Now first The Weeping angels, cold haunting looking stone statues that quantum lock when not being looked at. Steven Moffat told people how he came up with the idea of the weeping angels and it's an interesting story. Supposedly Moffat went and visited a graveyard at first alone while looking at the grave stones he is faces with a human size stone angel which looked to be guarding the graveyard intrigued by this angel and how beautiful it looked he decided to find his son and show him however by the time they had gotten back to the grave yard the Angel had Dissapered...strange eh.
Next up can anyone remember what protocol one is?

The Emergency Protocol One is only for fatal problems , the most obvious one would be if or when  the Doctor dies. The TARDIS then takes the companion home or wherever the doctor first met his companion and the sad part supposedly the  TARDIS is supposed to hide herself.  Isn't it funny and an interesting matter why it kicked didn't kick in when Donna was alone in Journey's End? Hmm strange!

The beautiful raggedy TARDIS!
As you can see from the  picture above it shows a raggedy-looking police box that has become part of the scenery, so much so, that a fence has been built not over it oh no it's built through it incredible right? This one has become one of the most well known mysteries all over the internet incredible right!

Image result for raggedy tardis real
It has prompted many Who fans to remember the Ninth Doctor telling Rose Tyler to leave the TARDIS on a street corner and let it die. The feels!
Image result for vincent van gough doctor who painting
Vincent Van Gogh may have painted and seen the TARDIS!
The name of the painting is Sunset at Montmajour' it was  recently found in a Norwegian man's attic. We all know Vincent van Gogh was friends with the Doctor and Amy Pond: can you not see the TARDIS in this photo above? can you? Is it Just  me or is there a little blue box in the Top left corner. Could it be no it couldn't OH YES it can!

i will be uploading more later on today!

Roadside ghosts

Roadside ghosts

roadside ghosts have been documented and seen  through out history.  In most cases the roadside ghost is a deformed ghost without a face.
this creepy urban legend started out as a child before transforming into a teenage girl.  When the mother in the car asked the ghost if she is alright, she is revealed to have no face at all.

From spooky children with no eyes to ghostly horsemen, and marching Romans to phantom lorries, stories of ghoulish apparitions on Britain’s roads are legion.

Are these urban legends of spooky shadow men, women and even children just the fevered imaginations of tired motorists, elaborate hoaxes or are genuine paranormal phenomena? This post will be one of the longest I have have ever done on this blog and I hope you all enjoy it! This post may later on become a page! This page and post will mainly be about the experiences others have had which I have found online or have been given by others who have spoken to me.

Here are some people's experiences....

Box carriage

Location: A31 (Surrey) - Hogs Back, Guildford bound. 1 mile Northeast of Tongham junction
Type: Unknown Ghost Type
Date / Time: 08 January 2007, 22:40h, and 1960s (around 03:00h)
Further Comments: on route home in 2007, a driver watched a horse drawn box carriage cross the road around 100 metres in front of him. The witness reported that he could not make out too many details as it was raining hard, though he was able to see a dim lantern towards the front of the carriage. As the driver reached the spot where he had seen the vehicle pass, he realised there was no side road where the coach and horses could have crossed. Another witness in the 1960s spotted a female figure with long hair, wearing a white dress, standing by the roadside. The witness stopped to see if she was lost or needed a lift, but she had vanished. Mentioning the encounter to a work colleague the following day, the colleague described the figure which was encountered and said the area was haunted.

Running Shadow

Location: Abbotsbury (Dorset) - B3157, between Abbotsbury, Portesham and Chickerell
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: 31 August 2014, 02:00h
Further Comments: A driver hit the brakes as a shadowy figure ran in front of their car. The driver then watched as the figure disappeared, its legs evaporating before reaching the side of the road.

Screaming Girl

Location: Accrington (Lancashire) - Black Abbey Road
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: Unknown
Further Comments: This ghostly figure drifts quietly down the road, screaming only if approached. She was burnt to death after having a love affair with one of the monks.

White Dog

Location: Alfriston (Sussex) - The White Way, road leading from the town towards Seaford
Type: Shuck
Date / Time: Unknown
Further Comments: This creature is reportedly the dog of a young man murdered while out walking during the 1700s - because the pitiful hound sat by the victim's shallow grave, the criminals killed it also. The haunting is said to have ceased after the bodies of dog and owner were discovered when the road was widened.

These experiences above are from this website:

Check out for more info!

The first report was posted to their online forum on February 4th, 2015 from a motorist named as  Lisa Fisher, who recounted her experience:

"I was driving towards Bretby Hall in Bretby on Monday around 2pm. There is a lane just off Ashby Road that leads up to the hall. As I turned into the lane I could see a young woman with black hair standing with a bike by the side of the road, about a 100m ahead. As I got closer I could see she was dressed in old fashioned clothes (floral dress and hair net). The bike had a wicker basket and also looked old. She watched me as I passed her. As I got further down the lane I happened to glance in the rear view mirror and saw the woman had disappeared."

Another report was made to the newspaper on February 26th by a motorist named as Janet Fielding, whose account bears striking similarities to the first:

"I was driving down Mount Road (not far from Bretby Hall) towards the Planters garden centre. It was around 4pm and raining quite badly. As I was driving down the road I passed a lady walking by the side of the road.

"She was quite tall and was wearing a floral dress and had her hair in a net. She looked in her early 30s and had black hair. The clothes looked very old fashioned and overall she looked out of place.

"When I passed her she turned her head and stared at me blankly. It was quite unnerving and creepy when she stared at me. I thought nothing of it and continued driving."
