Hello everyone !

Sorry for the long wait on the next post tonight I will be writing up the theories on Doctor Who and I am working on a longer post which will be uploaded within the next week! Thanks for reading have a fantastic day/evening/ night wherever you are out there! :)

Roadside ghosts

Roadside ghosts

roadside ghosts have been documented and seen  through out history.  In most cases the roadside ghost is a deformed ghost without a face.
this creepy urban legend started out as a child before transforming into a teenage girl.  When the mother in the car asked the ghost if she is alright, she is revealed to have no face at all.

From spooky children with no eyes to ghostly horsemen, and marching Romans to phantom lorries, stories of ghoulish apparitions on Britain’s roads are legion.

Are these urban legends of spooky shadow men, women and even children just the fevered imaginations of tired motorists, elaborate hoaxes or are genuine paranormal phenomena? This post will be one of the longest I have have ever done on this blog and I hope you all enjoy it! This post may later on become a page! This page and post will mainly be about the experiences others have had which I have found online or have been given by others who have spoken to me.

Here are some people's experiences....

Box carriage

Location: A31 (Surrey) - Hogs Back, Guildford bound. 1 mile Northeast of Tongham junction
Type: Unknown Ghost Type
Date / Time: 08 January 2007, 22:40h, and 1960s (around 03:00h)
Further Comments: on route home in 2007, a driver watched a horse drawn box carriage cross the road around 100 metres in front of him. The witness reported that he could not make out too many details as it was raining hard, though he was able to see a dim lantern towards the front of the carriage. As the driver reached the spot where he had seen the vehicle pass, he realised there was no side road where the coach and horses could have crossed. Another witness in the 1960s spotted a female figure with long hair, wearing a white dress, standing by the roadside. The witness stopped to see if she was lost or needed a lift, but she had vanished. Mentioning the encounter to a work colleague the following day, the colleague described the figure which was encountered and said the area was haunted.

Running Shadow

Location: Abbotsbury (Dorset) - B3157, between Abbotsbury, Portesham and Chickerell
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: 31 August 2014, 02:00h
Further Comments: A driver hit the brakes as a shadowy figure ran in front of their car. The driver then watched as the figure disappeared, its legs evaporating before reaching the side of the road.

Screaming Girl

Location: Accrington (Lancashire) - Black Abbey Road
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: Unknown
Further Comments: This ghostly figure drifts quietly down the road, screaming only if approached. She was burnt to death after having a love affair with one of the monks.

White Dog

Location: Alfriston (Sussex) - The White Way, road leading from the town towards Seaford
Type: Shuck
Date / Time: Unknown
Further Comments: This creature is reportedly the dog of a young man murdered while out walking during the 1700s - because the pitiful hound sat by the victim's shallow grave, the criminals killed it also. The haunting is said to have ceased after the bodies of dog and owner were discovered when the road was widened.

These experiences above are from this website:

Check out for more info!

The first report was posted to their online forum on February 4th, 2015 from a motorist named as  Lisa Fisher, who recounted her experience:

"I was driving towards Bretby Hall in Bretby on Monday around 2pm. There is a lane just off Ashby Road that leads up to the hall. As I turned into the lane I could see a young woman with black hair standing with a bike by the side of the road, about a 100m ahead. As I got closer I could see she was dressed in old fashioned clothes (floral dress and hair net). The bike had a wicker basket and also looked old. She watched me as I passed her. As I got further down the lane I happened to glance in the rear view mirror and saw the woman had disappeared."

Another report was made to the newspaper on February 26th by a motorist named as Janet Fielding, whose account bears striking similarities to the first:

"I was driving down Mount Road (not far from Bretby Hall) towards the Planters garden centre. It was around 4pm and raining quite badly. As I was driving down the road I passed a lady walking by the side of the road.

"She was quite tall and was wearing a floral dress and had her hair in a net. She looked in her early 30s and had black hair. The clothes looked very old fashioned and overall she looked out of place.

"When I passed her she turned her head and stared at me blankly. It was quite unnerving and creepy when she stared at me. I thought nothing of it and continued driving."

Island Of Dolls

Image result for island of dolls
This island has peeked my interest the most when looking at different haunted places when researching this place I have found out that hundreds of photographers and thrill-seekers travel to this mysterious and creepy haunted  Island every year, but to the locals it was never meant to be a tourist attraction and was a rest place where somthing tragic happens to a little girl.
It takes apparently two hours to get there by boat from Mexico. When you get to this island the first thing you see is the nightmarish clearing deep in the woods where thousands of mutilated dolls hang from the trees and hide among the dense branches rotting lonely swaying in the wind.

Why dolls you ask?
Image result for island of dolls ghost
Well the  dolls were put there by a Mexican man who believed they would help the troubled ghost of a small girl who died there on the island over 50 years ago an according to the locals and visitors who go there the little girl still haunts the woods to this day.
The Mexico man Julian Santana Barrera retreated to the woods shortly after she drowned in the canal and he believes her spirit and soul is still running around the woods. Julian claimed he could  also hear her tormented screams and footsteps in the darkness and he just wanted to help guide her way home using the dolls.

In Tribute to the little girl Barrera discovered a doll floating in the canal where she died and hung it from a tree as a mark of respect to this little girl. Barrera has told some of the locals he has heard a little girls voice from the fill he hung from the tree and this is one of the reason he kept on hanging more up to try and communicate with the spirit of the little girl. Some say Julian put the dolls up to protect himself as he feared for his own life he believed somthing other then the spirit of the little girl resided there. However many say it is the little girl who is still wandering through the woods lost. Since Julian Santana had a wonderful garden, the locals brought old dolls in trade for fresh vegetables. And so, on Doll Island grew an amazing collection of thousands of dolls in various stages of disintegration.
Still after 14 years of his own mysterious death in those exact woods visitors and locals insist they hear whispers in the dead of the night and some say they feel and see the dolls' eyes following them through the trees as they walk by.

Researching a bit more into the history of the island I found out that Julian died of a heart attack in 2001, and a small white cross near the water marks his grave. His cousin Anastasio now lives on the island, running it as a tourist attraction. “The spirit of the little girl is still here,” he says. “It’s important not to remove the dolls.”
At night, he says, they come alive. “They will move their heads and whisper to each other. It’s very spooky, but I have gotten used to it.” - reference Daily mail

I hope to find some more research on this island as I find it very interesting I hope you enjoyed reading this I wouldn't recommend reading or looking, let alone visiting the island where the pictures were took if your afraid of dolls as this would be your worse nightmare!!

Poveglia island

Image result for poveglia island
A Quarantine station for untreatable diseases , every inch of the island used for mass graves for people who suffered there untimely death from the disease known as the black death or as we know it as now the plague, however more recently it is known for being a mental hospital/institution.  The tiny island of Poveglia in venice  has served many unpleasant purposes over the years, and has more history and deaths then anyone could count and this is why it's so understandable for this island to be haunted by many restless souls.  Today it stands empty, a crumbling recollection of abandoned buildings and weeds run riot that used to be an island full of people. This island is situated just two miles from the glittering palaces of the Grand Canal. Urban legends, myths and rumors about Poveglia are very  pervasive as the weeds and the old buildings make an uncanny resemblance to something from a horror movie or story.   As we know if due to historians and other documentation many people were burned and buried there during the black plague that the soil has been measured to be at  50% human ash.  That is why local fishermen and other boat me will only take visitors and or paranormal investigators so far onto the island as a they fear if they do not read lightly the Yb would be haunted by the restless spirits of there ancestors.

Stories go...

According to myths and rumours from the local people they believe a  psychiatrist who ran the mental hospital was a butcher. He also torchered many of the men and women who visited or stayed at the mental hospital. Many people say he eventually when mad himself  from the guilt and threw himself from the island's belltower, only to survive the fall and be strangled by a "ghostly mist" that emerged from the ground. Creepy!
Local people (Venetians)  have tryed to do what they can to tamp down overheated rumors about Poveglia however it's not that easy when famous shows such as ghost adventures and other popular paranormal investigating programs have experienced and documented some of the worse and at the same time beat experiences ever caught on film. The local people deny being frightened of the place (however we know that isn't exactly true). They also tend not to mention the plague pits or mental hospitals when being put into magazines for tourists to see.
Although it's an abandoned place it's rotting buildings and terrible history still make the island so mysterious and interesting because they still don't do tours for tourists or others without a good reason   health and safety of course.
The Roman's!....
According to legend, during Roman times it was used to isolate thousands of plague victims, and during the three occasions when the Black Death spread through Europe, the island was effectively used as a lazaretto and plague pit – it was considered an efficient way of keeping the infected people separated from the healthy. According to this version, over 160,000 people died on the island throughout its history.”
Some facts! You might not know!
-The island first came to be documented in 421 AD, when people from Padua and Este fled there to save themselves and there family's but also to escape the barbaric invasions. In the 9th century the island started to be intensely populated, and began to get over populated which led to the increase of black plague victims.  In the following centuries its importance grew steadily and became one of Venice's best place to live during that time, until it was governed by a dedicated
Podestà.”
- In 1777 the island came under the jurisdiction of the Magistrato alla Sanità (Public Health Office), and the island was a check point for all goods and people coming to and going from Venice by ship.
- In the year 1793, there were several cases of the plague on two ships, and consequently the island was transformed into a temporary confinement  and recovery station for the ill (Lazzaretto); this role became permanent in 1805, under the rule of Napoleon Bonaparte.
-.Napoleon Bonaparte also had the old church of San Vitale destroyed (The old bell tower is one of the first things you see as you past the island)  than shortly after the old bell tower was converted into a lighthouse to help fisherman.

Most of you either have heard of ghost adventures or are fans of there program. The Ghost Adventures Crew are one of the only lucky paranormal teams who have manged to get permission to visit the island. I've watched this episode and find they have caught some of the best paranormal evidence I have ever seen.  Their episode on Poveglia island where the crew  basically stranded themselves there for 24 hours with out help.  I must say this episode is one of the only ones that has fully creeped me out to the maximum. The episode is full of perceived curses, apparitions, creepy music, weird energy, inexplicable equipment malfunctions, and off-the-charts ghost monitors. The crew had to even cut off part of the video due to the fact Zac might have been under some sort of possession. These Ghost Adventures Crew  trued there best to speak in  Italian to the ghosts who linger restlessly in the hall ways of the old buildings they asked questions like “are you a murderer?” and seemed to get responses from the dark abyss. Mysterious bangs, audible footsteps, disembodied voices and strange orbs are all captured on video and audio. As with most episodes of Ghost Adventures, people bashed the validity of their haunted claims. We’ll admit this shit looks scary but most things illuminated only by the green of a night-vision camera usually are. I will put the link below for this episode of Ghost Adventures!

Mermaids and mermans

Mermaids and Merman's

With nearly three-quarters of the Earth covered by water, it's not very hard to believe there maybe somthing other then sea animals and other critters.   centuries ago, the oceans were believed to contain many mysterious creatures, including sea serpents and mermaids. Merfolk (mermaids and mermen) are, of course, only the marine version of half-human, half-animal legends that have captured humans  imagination for a long long time.
Woundering what the different meanings to Mermaid
In Old English, “mer” means “sea,” and “maid” simply meant woman. Mermaids are therefore “women of the sea” Following this line of etymological logic, a “mer” man (merman) would be a “man of the sea.” Both names make perfect sense and describe their natural habitat simply and to the point.  Mermaids and mermen are fish-like people who swim through the oceans and these sea creatures are normally seen
Now we've seen mermaids and mermen in films, documentaries and even in festivals however where does the true legend come from?
Ancient Syrian (~ 1000 BC)
The locals believed there was a goddess who went by the name of Artargatis. She was one of the goddesses of fertility women in particular spread the word of this beautiful goddess and eventually her cult increased in size and crossed over to Greece and Rome. However she spent just known for fertility she was also associated with water (especially lakes) and fish. Often depicted in mermaid form, Atargatis is guessed to be the “original” mermaid. Legend that has been passed down centuries however there are many different stories which surround Atargatis. The legends that surrounds this goddess is that she dove into a lake to become a fish, but only her bottom half was transformed.
Before the mermaid was seen or even heard of the merman was there way before the legend of a beautiful mermaid sat on the rocks brushing her hair and singing a sweet melody. The man who this legend is based on the Babylonian god Oannes predates the Syrian mermaid Atargatis by several thousand years. The legend goes that he had both a fish body and a human body. His human form was beneath his fish form, which allowed him to live among men on land as well as in the sea.
However there are all these legends about beautiful hansom men and women of the sea but there is also legends on how mermaids and merman's are described as monstrous and ugly, they are more usually very beautiful. Above the waist they appear as a lovely young woman, whilst from the waist down, they are like a fish with fins and a spreading tail.

There are some say there are different types of mermaids and merman here is an idea of some of them.
Some of these creatures live in lakes and rivers. In Slavic mythology there are the Rusalki, these are spirits of young women who have met their fate through drowning or even worse or more painful deaths that involve water. They appear in the form of beautiful fish-women or mermaids. They have lovely hair, fine features but sad fathomless eyes which tell their tragic tale. They entrance young men, taking them to the river floor to live with them.
In British folklore these creatures are bringers of bad fortune, capable of causing storms and killing humans.
One of the bad things that these mermaids are accused of include telling sailors their ship is doomed and enchanting sailors and causing shipwrecks. Seeing a mermaid is a sure sign of a violent storm to come. In other stories, however in other stories they deliberately drag people down in the water and squeeze the life out of drowning men. They also take men down to their underwater kingdoms to marry them.
However on occasions, mermaids can also bring good fortune and luck by giving humans cures or granting them wishes. In some tales and stories, they even marry and live with humans. For example, the Merrow of Ireland and Scotland.
These mermaids are beautiful, gentle, modest and kind. They wear a red cap and, if this is captured and hidden from them, they will shed their skins and stay on land. However, most times they eventually retrieve the cap and return to the sea. Doesn't this remind you of a very famous Disney movie?
They also lure young men to follow them beneath the waves. Here they live in an enchanted state. Merrow music is often heard coming from beneath the waves (however not played by sea creatures and crabs)
I hope you enjoyed this urban legend I will probably do a more detailed version later on about the stories from the past and also the the experiences of others who have seen or heard the beautiful or devastatingly
ugly creatures of the deep blue sea!

Beaulieu, Hampshire

Image result for beaulieu ghost
While you’re more likely to come face to face with a Silver Ghost from the main museum  one of the most popular places in Beaulieu’s National Motor Museum, is Is haunted house which offers great stories from the staff who some of those have heard seen and even experienced a supernatural encounter.
In beaulie there have been several sightings of shadow figures, ghostly monks and orbs. In the village over the years. People have also heard mysterious Gregorian chanting and caught the smell of incense like such that come from and are used in old rituals.
The main House is also said to be haunted by one of Lord Montagu’s ancestors, Countess Isabella, she died in 1786. The Cistercian Abbey at Beaulieu – the biggest in the UK – was built in 1204 after King John made a gift of land to the monks.
According to the urban legend, he was driven to make the gesture of giving over the land to months after having a terrifying nightmare in which he was beaten and tortured by a group of monks, who were angered by his oppression of their community.
The mystery of the lady in blue
Beaulie  has long been told around Hampshire as one of the most haunted places out there by many of the locals.
a mysterious Lady in Blue has been caught on camera at Beaulie.
She appeared at Palace House, ancestral home of Lord Montagu, after visitors and most of the staff had left for the day.
A member of staff had just bought a new mobile phone and decided to test the camera by taking pictures of the historic building.
According to Hannah
“It wasn’t a frightening experience – quite the opposite – but if I’d seen a face I’d probably have dropped my phone and run.”
The lady blue seemed to have many links to one of the past inhabitants Countess Isabella. As she is seen wearing a gown or a similar dress to ones seen in the paintings which are hung around the house.
However this is as we know not the only haunted place in beaulie!
An ancient building called The Domus – used to host the annual estate dinner and other functions is said to be haunted by Brother Augustus.
The Rev Robert Frazer Powles, who died in 1939, claimed to know all the ghostly monks by name and even held a candlelit Mass on Christmas Eve for his phantom friends.
Arthur Conan Doyle, creator of Sherlock Holmes, was interested in spiritualism and once held a séance at Palace House....interesting!

Waverly Hills Sanatorium.

Image result for waverly hills sanatoriumWe all know the name Waverly Hills Sanatorium when it comes to haunted instutions this one's probably the place you want to be or go to when doing an investigation due to the fact it's known as one of the most haunted locations in America.

Let's start off with some basic history of the building....
During the 1800s and early 1900s America was overthrown by a deadly disease known by many as the “white death” or what it's called today as tuberculosis. This terrifyingly painful contagious plague, had no cure. This monstrous disease claimed entire families and sometimes entire towns. In the 1900s Louisville, Kentucky had one of the highest death tolls due to tuberculosis in America.
Of course towns  Built on low, swampland, this location was the perfect breeding ground for disease. in 1910, a hospital was finally built on windswept hill in southern Jefferson County that had been built and made to combat and stop the spread of the horrific disease. The hospital quickly became overcrowded and with help from the town by them giving  donations of money and land, a new hospital was started in 1924.

Room 502
Image result for Waverly Hills Sanatorium Room 502

We know many shows have visited room 502 and they claim they have found evidence to prove this room is haunted. (“Ghost Hunters, Ghost Adventures, Ghost Hunters Academy and Paranormal Challenge” have all investigated the sanatorium. But YouTube has many paranormal hunting teams, with and without their own reality TV series, investigating Waverly Hills. There is a long waiting list for tour reservations, including people who come, not to hunt ghosts, but to admire the massive and magnificent Gothic architecture.)
One urban legend of room 502 is about a nurse who hung herself in the room after becoming pregnant without being married. The story is very famous and is partly true but indications show that it did not happen in Waverly Hills it happens in another hospital.
However there's is Another newer urban legend about room 502 that has been circling the internet.  This is about a homeless man that was murdered by a gang in the room. Some accounts say that the man was killed and used in a satanic ritual while others suggest that he was the victim of a drug related gang. However if it had something to do with satanic rituals I can understand how this room can be haunted due to the fact this man had a horrendous death.
The death chute
There are also many urban legends about the "body chute" or the "death tunnel". This was a tunnel built to transport supplies to the facilities in the harsh winter. Since there were many deaths because of tuberculosis, the bodies of dead people were moved through the tunnel in order for other patients and other staff of the hospital not to see them as it would cause panic and the nurses and staff of the hospital didn't need this on top of the level of patients rising every day due to the lack of staff they had at the sanatorium.
However some urban legends say that the bodies were simply thrown down the tunnel and let to slide down to the bottom with out any care for them at all after all to many of the staff they had to much to do and the bodies were just seen as soulless vessles.
Although it is true that the tunnel was used to transport the bodies of dead patients, there is evidence to say they were not just thrown down as investigators and historians have seen carts and winches used to move the remains of the dead patients. Researchers and investigators have also found evidence that the tunnel was initially built as a big steam vent for the boilerrooms located at the bottom of the hill. This was used to provide heat to the patients of the hospital.  The tunnel was also used by hospital staffas an alternative way to go up or down the hospital during the winter as it was a quicker way into The sanatorium at this time due to the fact the hospital was over crowded by patients. Image result for Waverly Hills Sanatorium Room 502
Many people claim that over nine thousand deaths occurred at the Sanatorium.
"According to Assistant Medical Director Dr. J. Frank W. Stewart, the highest number of deaths in a single year at Waverly Hills was 152. Stewart wrote that the worst time for deaths was at the end of the Second World War when troops were returning from overseas with very advanced tuberculosis cases.[24] Some independent researchers suggest that since 162 people died at Waverly Hills in 1945, the highest total number of deaths possible over 50 years was approximately 8,212.[25]"
Another story/urban legend which comes from the sanatorium involve ghosts of nurses or patients who were supposedly in the hospital working or helping patients. There is one urban legend  about a nurse who haunts the first floor. The nurse apparently tried to kill herself by slitting her wrists. She then ran out of the building, screaming and bleeding out the lobby and then she died at the front of the building due to loss of blood. Some say she couldn't handle working in the hospital any more due to not being able to help anyone and others believe she lost someone dear to her.  Researchers and investigators who have looked into the history in detail have found out that there was a real case of a nurse who tried to kill herself in the hospital, however she did not run through the lobby while bleeding and she did not die.Image result for waverly hills sanatorium

Campfire experience

Well as many of you know who follow both the seekers of the paranormal and my personal twitter account I went away to @Avontyrell for three days and on the first night we stayed in the huts we decided to (Leon, Sam, I and the team leaders) create a campfire to roast marshmallows and also to drink hot chocolate near to keep us all warm while we were outside. While we were sat outside looking at the fire having a good time I felt a very odd feeling and the hairs on the back of my neck stood on end. So I began to take pictures of the fire and around to see if anything would show up and to my surprise while looking back at the photos I took on my phone I saw something creepy. At first I thought due to the fire it's just trickery of the eye you know things you see in the fire. Almost like the game I used to play when I was a child where you look at the clouds and make out shapes and pictures you see. Here are a couple of the ones I took that look almost like something that maybe something or just the trickery of the eye...
The picture on the left looks almost like a phoenix and on the right a hand coming out of the flames.
Like I said again I almost thought I was seeing things until I realised I wasn't looking closely at the pictures enough once I got home I picked up a magnifying glass and looked in detail into the photos and something incredibly creep caught my eye..A face.

as you can see in the first photo below the face is almost floating into place.

but again this is not the only evidence I caught on camera during this amazing camp fire. just after these photos were taken also the first image almost looks like a skull coming out of the flames. maybe I've seen to many horror movies but again something just doesn't add up below I enlarged the image so you guys can see what I'm talking about.

here are another two taken after the one above to me this looks almost like the KKK clothing/masks they used to wear, however again could be trickery of the eyes. it could almost look like a plague mask one warn by doctors.  again I have enlarged this photo.

Image result for satan

Looking through the photos trying to figure out while sat around the campfire what was trickery of the eye and what wasn't was hard as I always felt I was being watched by something behind me that wasn't there it almost felt like the entity that I caught I the photo was trying to distract me from looking in detail at the photos. but anyway the last photo was the one which pushed me over the edge in believing the paranormal entity's I had captured that evening were real and not trickery was this picture. many people may believe it to be embers from the fire however during the 3 hours of this investigation there were never any embers that flew out from the fire on camera or off.

what do you think of this photo?

to me and the team they look like eyes.

just after i took these pictures i sent them to another paranormal investigation team for a second opinion on what i captured and here is the screen shots of what they said.
