When woged (will speak about what woged are in another blog) they
tend/are known to grow short, snow-white fur all over, their teeth develop into
needle-like fangs (such as ones you see from a cactus) , their eyes turn yellow
and appear to glow, their ears elongate, and their nails grow into long curved
claws, which they often use in fights. Wendigo also have a distinctive brow
ridge that curves downward in a half-U shape at the outer ends of their brows,
before smoothly transitioning with the rest of their heads. Female Wendigos
have a much more subtle woge, but they still gain the fangs, brow ridge, and
wrinkles. Their hair remains, but the colour changes to a shade of grey.
"The Wendigo was gaunt to the point of emaciation, its
desiccated skin pulled tautly over its bones. With its bones pushing out
against its skin, its complexion the ash grey of death, and its eyes pushed
back deep into their sockets, the Wendigo looked like a gaunt skeleton recently
disinterred from the grave. What lips it had were tattered and bloody Unclean
and suffering from suppurations of the flesh, the Wendigo gave off a strange
and eerie odour of decay and decomposition, of death and corruption."

scholar

wendigo/wendango urban legend
Recent stories say that people believe a wendigo was originally
human. This is because people say that when a human results to eating human
flesh (cannibalism) even if it's the last resort to survive. He/she/ or it
supposedly tqnforms into a wendigo.
Another urban legend is that a warrior made a deal with the devil
to save his tribe. When the tribes safety was ensured the tribe banished the
wendigo due to its strength. The warrior/wendigo was banished from his trousers
live as an outcast of Society.
Another legend would be that people believe a human resides frozen
in a wendigo and the only way to kill a wendigo is by killing the human inside.
However others believe the only way to save the human inside the wendigo is to
kill the wendigo and the human will separate.
There is a condition known
as "Wendigo Psychosis" under which people who have reasonable access
to other food sources would inexplicably become overcome with the need to
consume human flesh. One such person, a
Cree man named Swift Runner, famously slaughtered his entire family in 1878 and
ate them, despite being only 25 miles from the Hudson Bay Company's supply
post.
In 1907 a Oji-Cree man named Jack Fiddler and his brother were
arrested for killing over 14 people who he claimed were Wendigos or about to
become them.
As tribes have been more and more influenced by surrounding
culture, the reports of the Wendigo have declined over the years, but as with
most evil spirits, it is doubtful that this creature is gone for good.
